Letter from the Chapter

Dear Potential New Member,

Welcome to American University! On behalf of the Lambda Eta chapter of Sigma Kappa, we wish you the most congratulations and success, wherever you’re at in your collegiate career. Whether you’re a seasoned DC student or have just joined us, this is such an exciting time in life. We are all faced with so many experiences, defining moments, and opportunities that open doors wide during our time at American. To me and to my sisters, joining the inspiring Panhellenic community as part of Sigma Kappa was a decision that encompasses all of those things — and more.

As Sigma Kappas, we push each other every day to live out our values to the best of our abilities, while redefining what it means to be a sorority woman. This chapter is made up of such an incredible group of women who made a promise to one another to serve each other compassionately, kindly, and loyally. We are so excited that you have made the decision to go through recruitment as we know that wherever you find your home on campus, you will be welcomed with an unbelievable sense of warmth and support. As Vice President of Membership, I promise to make this recruitment experience one that truly demonstrates to you who we are as Sigma Kappa, allowing you to have an understanding of the genuine sisterhood we are so proud to call home.

Thank you so much for your interest in Sigma Kappa — we cannot wait to meet you during recruitment!

Love in Sigma Kappa,

Jenna Poleykett
